1. Area of Conflict
Regardless of the cause, the casualty must have occurred in a war zone, or the death must be a direct result of wounds received in the area of conflict.
2. Residency
All the casualties raised in Royal Oak are eligible to be included on the memorial.
All those who lived (or worked) in Royal Oak for three or more years before entering military service are eligible to be included on the memorial.
All those who did not live in Royal Oak but attended a Royal Oak public or private school before entering into the service are eligible to be included on the memorial.
3. Additions
Requests from family, friends, or comrades-at-arms asking to have someone be included on the memorial must have supporting data. The Veterans Events Committee will review all applications. Successful applications will be recommended for approval by the Royal Oak City Commission.
